I am an Associate Teaching Professor at Emory University, department of economics. I earned a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes. I hold a Ph.D. and M.Phil. degree in Economics from The Graduate Center at CUNY. My research focus is at the intersection of development and health economics, with a special interest in the topics of gender, children and fertility. I am also interested in the economics of higher education. Beyond research, I am passionate about teaching economics. I find particular joy in guiding students through the process of analyzing economic questions using R and the Python programming language.
